Hot Springs AR to Little Rock, AR
We drove the short distance from Hot Springs to Little Rock (the state capital), and found another great camping spot just north. Willow Beach campground is another Army Corps of Engineer camp. A beautiful spot on a peninsula with the Arkansas River (river we rafted on in CO), on one side of us and a pond/bayou on the other. And, it only cost $9.50 for electric and water hookups. After 19 days on this trip, Richard finally used the kayak, and he saw a beaver while on the water. Some of you know that whether or not the kayaks came was a big controversy between us! Richard said he would be using it many times, while Steve (who is in charge of tying them down properly so they don't fall off) did not want to bring them. Today, we drove into downtown Little Rock to tour the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, which is situated adjacent to the Arkansas River. The museum is quite extensive, consisting of 200,000 square feet on two levels. It tells the story of Bill's terms as president through photographs, texts, video clips, and numerous artifacts. President Clinton actually narrates the tour through hand held devices one rents at the ticket counter. Photos of the exterior of the museum, the oval office exhibit, and Willow Beach campground will be to the right if I can figure out how to download the internal memory of the camera, because I neglected to bring the camera's memory stick to the Clinton Library. We must add that during this phase of the trip, we developed some problems with the living portion of the RV, and may have to stop at some point in the next week for repairs. However, this will not affect further postings.
